Lyon County Fly-In...May 17 and 18, 2008

Zoom on in to the twelfth annual Lyon County Fly-In, Armed Forces Weekend, Saturday and Sunday, May 17 and 18, 2008, at the Silver Springs Airport for a weekend of fun-filled skies. The Fly-In is officially open from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Saturday and 3:00 PM Sunday and there will be a pancake breakfast each day, free to pilots who fly in, from 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.

The Lyon County Fly-In is about antique aircraft alongside modern military and fire-fighting planes. Meet pilots, builders, and restorers of military, antique, and ultra-light aircraft. Enjoy the “Young Eagles” program where we take young people aloft for their first off-the-ground experience.

The Fly-In will also feature vendors, food, and crafters to please all tastes.

Our VIP Chalet will provide special seating and refreshments for VIPs, sponsors, and pilots flying in for the day.

New this year, we are pleased to welcome the Dayton Valley Car Club with their "Wings & Wheels" show & shine on Saturday. View and print a flyer.

Also new, the High Sierra RC (Radio Control) Club will be at the Fly-In on Sunday to add their planes to the skies over Silver Springs.

Our raffle is growing daily with great prizes to be won! A Dell Palm Pilot, gift certificates from local merchants, logo merchandise, and more. This year's special raffle prize is a pair of airline tickets on Southwest Airlines to anywhere in the continental US that they fly. A $1,000 value! Not to be missed!! Buy your tickets at our Raffle Booth near the pilot registration area.

The Post Office will be offering a collector's item one-of-a-kind cancellation. Be sure to get yours!

The Lyon County Fly-In is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. We are located in Lyon County, Nevada - the fastest growing area in one of the nation's fastest growing states. We are located within minutes of Reno/Sparks metro area, Lake Tahoe, and Nevada's Capital, Carson City.

The typical air show visitor is male, age 26 to 54 (although children and young adults make up one-quarter of all visitors), has an annual household income above $25,000, and has attended college. Over 70% indicate they would likely patronize a sponsor business and purchase his products.

The Lyon County Fly-In goals are:

*	Provide a forum to showcase Lyon County for visitors and economic development.
